Capital Motors, Inc. (CMI) has a record of strong corporate social responsibility, engaging with local communities and encouraging staff members to participate in compassionate, charitable activities. Programs have included working with children who have Down syndrome, assisting low-income senior patients with rare diseases, and donating to the Children’s Hearing Foundation to assist hearing-impaired kids from families in need.
When Taiwan was slammed by Super Typhoon Nepartak in 2016, overturning cars and forcing thousands out of their homes, Capital Motors, Inc. pitched in to help affected residents access daily necessities and rebuild their houses. In 2017, the business focused on aboriginal children in Taitung who weren’t receiving proper education due to education resources shortage. CMI helped to refurbish the existing school network to improve the children’s educational environment quality.
In 2018, Capital Motors, Inc. helped the children in Reindeer Children Home to having a comfortable reading area, encouraged them to gain knowledge and be joyful through reading. We supported JhangHu Elementary School in Yunlin County in 2019. They brought their students to visit the beautiful island, Taiwan, by the multiple autonomous programs.
In the year 2020, while global economy was influenced by COVID-19, the CMI Group passed the love to Chin-Ai String Orchestra in Nantou County and helped children’s art and music learning and character building.
In 2021, CMI started supporting science education, donating NT$2 million to the 50-year-old Shuiwei Elementary School in Changhua County. The donation covered renovations for the school's natural science classroom and science equipment, as well as a scholarship for children. With the donation, CMI hopes to inspire action, to present a new perspective on science education in remote areas to the public, and to create a new world of science for the children.
In December 2022, CMI continued its support for rural education by donating NT$2 million to the Banan Flower Elementary and Junior High School in Kaohsiung's Shanlin District. The donation covered scholarship programs, school classroom renovations and funding for student clubs. With this donation, CMI aims to raise awareness of the importance of educational development for children in rural areas, provide useful resources in the interest of having an enhanced childhood education.
